Mary Patricia Benz is an experienced Illinois trial and  appellate lawyer with a practice in downtown Chicago.  With more than 30 years of experience in state and  federal courts Ms. Benz concentrates her practice in  litigation and appeals, mediation and arbitration, and  lawyer professional responsibility matters.

Previously, Ms. Benz served for more than ten years on  the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission  (ARDC) hearing and inquiry boards. Her varied experience  allows Ms. Benz to focus her practice on all types of  dispute resolution for business organizations and
individuals, including lawyers, educators, and other  professionals. In her practice model, Mary Patricia Benz often works with a team of co- counsel, adding collaborative service to her efficient, creative and personal approach to complex legal problems.

Ms. Benz has tried and settled many complex disputes involving fraud, breach of contract, breach of warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, attorneys’ fees, legal malpractice, products liability, business torts, privacy and publicity rights, consequential and punitive damages, partnership and trust disputes, and class actions. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in many personal injury cases, insurance disputes, employment disputes, ERISA cases, and in many appeals.
